Tameika Bennett

Tameika Bennett attended Mississippi State University and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science in May 2005. Mrs. Bennett attended the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) School of Law where she received her Juris Doctorate in May 2008.

While attending Ole Miss School of Law, Mrs. Bennett served as a law clerk for Moore Law Firm in Grenada, Mississippi. She was an active student in the Criminal Appeals program, where her contribution to an appellate brief resulted in a new legal standard for constructive possession in the state of Mississippi. Additionally, Mrs. Bennett was a member of the Dean’s Leadership Council, President of the Black Law Student Association, an athletic tutor, and an International Negotiations Competition finalist.

Mrs. Bennett's legal career has been devoted to serving others. From her time as a prosecutor for the Mississippi Department of Human Services to her employment with Young Williams, P.A., Mike Espy PLLC, and Moore Law Group, P.A., her practice has been focused on fairness and justice for all who are impacted by her work.

She is currently a staff attorney for the Office of Post Capital Conviction, where she is a valuable member of the team and actively protects the Constitutional rights of indigent defendants. She transitioned from being managing partner of Bennett Law Office, PLLC. Mrs. Bennett previously served as the hearing officer for the Rankin County Board of Supervisors and previously served as a Rankin County Public Defender. In addition to practicing Law, Mrs. Bennett is a Girl Scout troop leader, an active youth leader and choir member at Truevine Baptist Church, a member in the Leadership Rankin Class of 2018-2019, a member of Women in the Lead class of 2025, a leader in Law for the Mississippi Business Journal in 2019, and dedicated member of the Madison County Mississippi Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.

After law school, she moved to Brandon, Mississippi and married Rico Bennett in 2009. The couple resides in Brandon, Mississippi where they are proudly raising three children, Jaida, Bree and Deuce.
